article 2

Want to know what is making you wear so much make-up then scroll down. If you’re wondering why you wear so much make-up well, I think I’ve just found the answer. Maybe it’s been sitting right in front of you maybe you’ve been seeing it every day but you just haven’t noticed that this is the thing that is leading you into wanting to wear even more make-up. From music videos to online tutorials on YouTube is where nearly every teenager is taught how to wear make-up and what the new trends for make-up are one minute thin eyebrows the next thick slug eybrows.from the minute you lay your eyes on the tutorial you are trapped and your eyes are drawn into the video learning new ways to make yourself even more fake your brain and eyes detach themselves from each other and you forget what these videos are actually doing to you. maybe we can’t help ourselves because we are surrounded 24/7 by these controlling videos making us think that everything these people do we should do everything these people buy we should buy.

The internet is filled with new ways to do your make-up and also our minds are filled up with this thought that watching these videos is better than watching videos to revise for your next science exam make-up is science some will say. always experimenting with new chemical products trying to find products which will hide those freckles you have always wanted to get rid of or filling in those eyebrows you have always been so insecure about make-up is a way of covering up things that you have always dreamt about getting rid of without knowing the side effects of using these products on the flaws you have. From time when wearing make-up at a young age was seen as normal it has become a continuous cycle something that you teens can’t seem to stop.

You would watch one video about makeup and the next day you have 1000 suggested videos on how to do your make-up and you can’t help but watch them all just because you’re so curious on how people go from being normal to fake. More than 67% of videos on YouTube are about make-up 56% of you tubers once in their videos talk and show their viewers how they do their make-up.so watching your favorite you tuber telling you how to do make-up you would listen? Most make-up videos are about how to do your make-up to look like a celebrity the most common is Kim Kardashian now what young teenager would not want to look like Kim Kardashian people are using

celebrities to lure you in and your just following everything their doing and saying making you spend money on products and making you cover your face with chemical products that in the future will have side effects.in todays society it is seen as the norm to be pounding your face with heaps of make-up and don’t get me started on the people who now use make-up on their bodies to make their boobs look bigger everything is getting all out of control can it even be stopped well you have all the power to that learn to show off your flaws that you have been born with learn to stop caring about what everyone else thinks but yourself most of these people you are worrying about you won’t even recognize when you are older.

article 1

F
rom the soot-rimmed eyes of the ancient great Egyptians to the lead paint worn by only the Elizabethans, girls and women have experimented with cosmetics throughout history and throughout their whole entire lives. More and more girls around east London love to cover their faces with chemical products to feel better about themselves which they sometimes say they do it for ‘’fun’’.is this really true?. In today society it is seen as being normal for girls even at the age of 13 to be wearing make-up especially around east London, if you was to walk around Walthamstow central you would see young girls with a full face of makeup (cakey look) now is this really normal for girls that haven’t really even gone into their teen years to be worrying about how they look? Isn’t the reason for being young to have fun? Well nowadays, wearing makeup is seen as being a fun thing to do. Do people really wear make up to feel better about themselves or just because everyone else does it so they can ‘’fit in’’

All over social media such as Instagram all you would mainly see is funny videos and make-up tutorials so if girls don’t really feel the need to wear make-up can they really escape the fact that it is seen as a normal thing that everyone is doing especially that now ‘’young people’’ are the main target audience for all of these social media apps. almost as if they are trapped in the fact that everyone is wearing make-up which then would result in more people wearing make-up?.
A new study has shown that more than 75% of girls in east London feel it’s impossible to leave the house without wearing make-up. a fifth of girls as young as 12 won’t leave home without a full make-up and over half of under 14’s wear cosmetics EVERY day’’ (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2723853/Would-YOU-let-12-year-old-wear-make-Over-HALF-14s-wear-EVERY-day-nearly-fifth-wont-leave-home-without-cosmetics-on.html). Quote from a 14 year old girl ‘’wearing make-up makes me and my friends feel better about ourselves and it is also a way of me and my friends to socialize with each other so many boys in my school thought we was ugly until we started wearing make-up and now I feel so good that I have all this new attention’’. Now boys play a big role in the fact that girls want to wear more and more make-up because in today’s society if a

boy doesn’t think your good looking then it’s the end of the world. But boys love to say ‘’I would rather want a girl that wears no make-up to a girl that wears make-up’’
But still go for the one with no make-up purely for the fact that she looks better. Your probably thinking where has this urge for young people to be wearing all this make-up well some blame ‘’Asian’’ people because of the fact that they are so skilled at doing their make-up they have set new trends all around east London such as the thick eyebrows and the 10kg amount of highlight. green street is one of the most popular places to buy new make-up and where you will see hundreds of women wearing make-up looking almost ‘’perfect’ ’now also most of the people you would see running up and down green street at groups of young teenagers trying to find out the new trends and trying to fit in with everyone else no wonder almost 45% of parents blame green street for being the reason why their kids put on tones of make-up. Green Street was made in 1940 where young teenagers did not feel the need to wear make-up so do we blame Green Street or the people who work there? It seems that people find it easier to blame Green Street than the people that run and work there. It seems like each month the new style of make-up changes first its thin eye-brows now everyone wants ‘’thick eye-brows’’

and everyone seems to be doing everything they can to fit in with the make-up trend like tinting their eyebrows which could risk all of your eyebrows falling off but oh well at least you fir in now. ‘Ornela’’ 15 has over 90k followers on Instagram based on the fact that she has good make up skills where as a doctor ‘’timjh’’ on Instagram has only 563 followers on Instagram the more ‘‘important’’ people are becoming less well known and makeup artist are becoming the most well-known. girls all over east London admire kenza and try and be like her because of how famous kenza is becoming girls think that doing what she does is going to make them famous as well teenagers are trapped in this idea that if you are not well known are not attractive that your life isn’t fun which is not the case teenagers need to learn that being well known and being the most attractive person in the room is not going to get you anywhere and as much as everyone tells them such as family and friends they can’t stop and realize that being attractive means nothing. There are many disadvantages of wearing make-up that not a lot of teenagers known such as it ruins your skin when you older maybe if they knew all these disadvantages they would stop but nowhere on the products to the mention these side effects and nowhere in tutorials or on social media they let everyone see the outcome of wearing a lot of make-up. "By the time girls become teenagers many of them have a daily make-up ritual or tutorial. As the layers add up so does exposure to dangerous chemicals and that’s very bad news for a young girl’s health."

Ornela ages 15 has over 90k followers based on the fact of her good make-up skills based in east London she has been an instagram star encouraging and inspiring young girls from the age of 13 to wear and try out new make-up she is known mostly all around east London and

all of the UK.

Now parents are giving their young children pocket money just for them to spend it all in boots or Superdrug on make-up which could be spent on more important things maybe there should be an age limit on if you can buy make-up or not but that would just cause to much problems maybe, the parents need to stop giving their children pocket money and just buy the things that they actually need? Well, a new study shows that millions of children are spending more than half of their weekly pocket money buying the newest brands of make-up the most expensive eye brow pencil. ‘’mac’’ is the number one place where young children buy all their make-up products and is £14 a eye brow pencil really worth it I thought not.

Sarah Craftwood

A girl that lives in east London told us ‘‘I was late for my GCSE math’s exam because I couldn’t get both my eye brows to look right’’ Its crazy to think that children are missing out on thing that will later on in life help them but nowadays they think getting the right eyebrows and eyeliner is going to get them everywhere.

grades dropping, gcse failing all because of chemical products most would say that this is really getting out of hand most children in their math’s class would rather look at their selves in the mirror than try and work out how to do simultaneous equations.

In mine and many other peoples opinions all around the world teens shouldn't or don't need to wear make-up because everyone is naturally pretty in their own way and make up does not define who you are the only person you need to impress is your self.

adaptation 2

You’ve watched your child grow from the second they came into this earth you have witnessed their first steps and their first words their first drop and their first tear don’t stop looking after them now and being there for them just because they are older and bigger than they was once where before.

Young teenagers all around the world are having problems with their appearance trying to cover up all their flaws with chemical products left right and center. Spending almost all of their pocket money given by their parents on make-up and unneeded things every month a new makeup trend comes out so, that means more of their parent’s money being spent and parents can’t help but give it to them you don’t want to see your child be stressed about make-up but you also don’t want to upset them. parents now days think that just letting their children wear make-up is a way of resolving their insecurity problems they think, having a chat to them about it won’t help well, almost 67% of teenagers said that ‘‘if they had someone to talk to about their insecurities about their insecurities it would make them feel better and they just want someone to tell them that they don’t need make-up. They feel as though people compliment them more when they have make-up on. So, what are you going to do about this you as a parent need to take control and make sure that your child feels like they are appreciated without make-up

Even the smallest things can help?

This article isn’t just about making you feel bad about how little you do to make sure your child is happy without make-up but almost like a guidance and something that you can reflect on and take away things to help your child because they are the most important things in your life. Taking you child out to experience new things and taking them to places which don’t revolve around make-up and everyone looking ‘the best’ make sure that you have fun with them take them somewhere where every child should be going take them to a theme park almost a way of letting them be free make sure that they don’t spend their pocket money on these un nessicery products which won’t help them in the future make sure you talk to them even once a week make sure they know that they are the most important and stunning person that you have ever seen, make them feel special no one else would, teach them not to judge peoples appearance because now days children are the only ones who bring each other down.

Sit down dinners is a great way to bond with your child talking about their problems as a family making sure that you know everything there is to know about your child. It doesn’t hurt the ring your child’s teacher once or twice to ask how they are doing how their behavior is changing, if any bullying is going on.

The times you have on make sure you make space for your children because if your children don’t feel wanted by you they will go elsewhere to make themselves happy. Making sure your child

Making sure that your child are the happiest in their teenage lives is the best thing because then it will then teach them to be confident and happy about their selves in the future they will then pass your parenting onto their children and the cycle will go on but we are starting with you first you are the only ones that can start this cycle of happy stress free young teenagers only you can change your child’s lives and for the parents that don’t take notice then hope that you child influences them to change their lives. Find new ways to spend some quality time with your child ask them what their hobbies are and plan an amazing day out no phones no make-up just fun.

Image finally being able to get in the car on time without you child having to touch up their make-up making sure they look nice to go to the shopping center 5 miles away from your home.
Time to start making a difference to your child’s life a life where you can spend even more time with yourchild laughing and talking about normal things rather that hearing your child complain about their looks 24/7.

Mum Trcey 34, on the left and daughter

aged 16, to the right spend a day at the St,
Judes childs hospital spending time with children that are facing cancer.

Helping out people that dont have the same as you and your child is a great way to teach your child to be more thougtful and teach your child tou appericate what they have.

Making sure your child is the happiest they can be is the most important thing because happiness brings good grades laughter self-confidence and that if what your child needs.

Speak to your child as if they are the wisest, kindest most beautiful and magical human on earth, for what they believe is what they will become.

Make a difference and start now it’s never too late.

adaptation 1

Can you remember when you was younger and everyone around you was free no worries not worried about what other people thought of you just free, playing out with all your friend talking and laughing about normal things being excited to play outside and get wet with water balloons having that mind-set that nothing is stopping them from going out to have fun without any stress the world where no one would judge you and everyone wouldn’t have such an opinion on your appearance, you would go outside and be ready within 2 minutes well isn’t it crazy how things have changed everyone is becoming more worried about how they look rather than enjoying their lives. I think it’s time to change everyone’s opinions and let them know how life used to be before stress free don’t you.

Everything you say and do can change their opinions every word you say to them can change the way they think stories about your past can make them think about how much fun they could be having but no one is doing anything to stop it. Everyone who knows how a stress free childhood is not speaking up not doing anything in their power to help the young children who have been almost possessed and taken over by make-up its self.

Campaigns should be set up, protests, even talking with a few teenagers can help because everyone follows everyone if people start to stop damaging their faces so young with chemical products everyone will then eventually stop. Let’s get it back to how it used to be when everyone would be outside playing around with water balloons but how young people are scared it might ruin their ‘make-up’.

FACTS:

Did you know almost 78% of teenagers are scared about what people will say if anyone sees them without any make-up? More than 67% of teenagers have given up on education and gcse’s some say they don’t even come in when their foundation has ran out many, children a wasting their lives because of small things and they complain about the strict rule about make-up in schools. Isn’t that sad anyone with a heart would feel so much sympathy towards them.

Have you heard of the new club called ‘’stress free teenagers’’ they’re hoping to go around the whole of London and progressing to be able to go around the whole world there’s just one thing that’s stopping them, they need more people to help, people who know what it is like to not worry about having to wear make-up. It’s a way to get teenagers all together to talk about their problems and share stories with one another to make them realise that they are not alone in this world of their where they feel so insecure that they are trapped, a way for everyone to hear stories about a stress free life a way to make them believe that they have so much more things that they could be worrying about and so much more things that they could be having fun with.

Our children at stress free teenagers first start of by making a mind map of what their insecurities are and what they do to them this is a good way a releasing their thoughts without having to say it out loud.

We just need you, you are the person we need to teach all these young teenagers that there is more to life than worrying about what people think of them without make-up. Even in your free time whenever you have nothing to do you can come down to this club and try and make a difference to people’s lives.

Time to start making a difference just pick up the phone fill out a form sheet and your good to go so easy and simple and you will get so much out of it the feeling that you have helped even one teenager to face their fears and stop worrying about their appearance teaching young teenagers to have fun which is what your teenage life is all about.

Task 4 evaluation

My research into publishings was every useful because it gave me ideas of how and what to put into my actual article also it gave me an idea of how articles are made and written and what sort of content needs to be in them also I got to see how different types of articles are laid out for different target audiences for example of it was targeted for adults then the article would be more well ladies out and sophisticated but if the article was aimed for young teenagers then the article would have more fun and appealing images such as celebrities.so researching  into publishing was very useful and helped me a lot when writing my own article and laying out my article from the text, images and headlines.also for my second article it helped me chose what to write because I did my research on why make up in such a big deal in east London and where it mostly comes from I also did interviews with young teenagers which is my target audience to find out more about what they think about green street so it gave me more of an idea of what to write also then I could use quotes in my article of what people said.

Pitching my ideas to my peers was very useful seeing as my class was mainly teenagers and that was my target audience this made me take in more of their feedback because if they didn't like something then that would mean that it mate not appeal to all young teenagers also teacher feed back helped a lot because my teacher knew what should and shouldn't be in my article so that made me change a few things such as my writing and images. My class mates gave me back negative and positive feed back being that my article was clear and precise but they wanted to see more images because it was targeted to young teenagers and that would of appealed more to them.i had three ideas to chose from and I chose makeup because my target audience overall was young teenagers because I felt more comfortable and makeup is a big thing in young teenagers lives so I would of had more teenagers that are going through a stage with make up.i didn't make any changes to my article only adding in more images.

It was very useful drafting my article because then I could give it to my teacher so she could tell me what needed to be changed and added after I got my teachers feed back it was useful because then in my re draft I could add in all the hits that where good and add in more bits that my teacher told me that I needed to have in it over all it was go drafting my article the re-drafting it. For mode of address I used rhetorical questions so that I can interact more with the readers and leave and then answer their answers that they had in their head into my article "do teens really wear make-up for fun".in my article I made sure that I was interacting with my readers and made sure that my writing was unique and different to all the other makeup articles out there I did this by making sure that the readers knew that I understood what they was going through."we all know how it feels your not alone".

Pre-production helped me aloud through writing my article because of the drawing draft I did which helped me lay out my article precisely also call sheets helped me a lot and everything in pre-production was useful because it guided me through out to make of my article and made sure that I knew what I was doing and made sure that I hadn't forgotten to add something into my article. For example my three ideas was useful because I then wrote somethings I could use in my article and for makeup I had a lot to write about it so I chose makeup to be my main article.also for my second article it helped me chose what to write because I did my research on why make up in such a big deal in east London.over all through your all of my pre-production I made a call sheet which would allow me to write down information about my model and where I will be having to use my model this is a good way of letting your model know what she will have to do on the day also, my make-up list made sure that I and my model was prepared so that she could bring in her colour foundation and just incase she was allergic to anything it would let me know before hand so I could have time to either change the product I used or even change my model completely.my risk assessment was very useful when preparing my self and my model for things that could happen where it would cause injuries this aloud us to be aware of the things to stay away from or to be careful around the aquipitment also if something did happen then I would of already had a clear plan of what to immediately do.templates and formats for my page layout was a very useful way of planning the way I am going to be laying out my article this would then be easier for me when I am actually designing my article because I already had a rough idea of how i was going to layout my article.mock ups using found image and dummy test this is also a good way of making sure I know what kind of images I will need to be taking and the kind of models I need to be using which will fit into my article which is about make up. Also, I can then chose the age of my model which was the same as my target audience this will help my target audience relate more with the article because of the image.i did not have to make a booking sheet for taking out a camera because I used my phone to take the images for my article I found this to be the easier and shortest way of taking my pictures for my article so I could then focus more on the layout and my writing because I could easily send it to my email and then save it onto my computer.

My images where all placed into certain places of my article so that I'm can draw the attention of my target audiences I used an image of "Kenza" who is very well known to the young teenagers In east London this was because more of target audience know about Kenza they are more likely to want to read it, it's like using a celebrity or a well known person on a front cover so people want to read it more and in east London "Kenza" is very well known.

For my main article I used a double page spread which was divided into 3 sections for each page this was so that I could fit my images that went with each piece of writing into the section where my writing was. For my second article I decided to make it into a "Snapchat" news article spread because most of my target audience use snapchat so they where more likely to read it that if it was on a boring one page spread it wouldn't appeal to them also my article was not to long and didn't have as much information  as my double page spread about makeup and Snapchat it a good way of putting some information using images and making it look appealing.

Every time I did a piece of writing I would save it so that it wouldn't get deleted by accident or if something did happen to the computer I wouldn't lose a lot of my work.i checked for copy write and I have dinky 5% I decided to change it so that all my work was seen as my own work.i did not use any hand written notes and kept all my work and pre-production on my computer and I uploaded everything I need to into blogger and I printed out my work one for my teacher to read and comment on it.

Overall making my article was not that easy but good for a first time also my pre-production helped a lot because it guided my through out the making of both of my articles article. My article is has clear understanding of what the meaning of my article is about and is clear that it is to give advice for those who feel the need to wear makeup and also to parents that have this problem with their children also my second article is clear and uses information of where makeup from east London changes and came from.

task 2 pre-production

Legal and Moral

Legal and moral

To make sure that in my newspaper I do not offend anyone by being racist so I have to make sure that my article doesn’t contain any racial comments that could offend people also it would be seen as racist if I was to talk about the Asian culture in a bad way so I have to word my words differently and make sure that nothing said in the article is going to offend anyone because then my article will be seen as being a bad article to some.

In my newspaper article my article may come across as being sexist because I am mainly only talking about girls so I have to make sure that somewhere in my article I mention that boys can also wear make-up because there is also going to be young boys that wear make-up.

Factual programmes or items or portrayals of factual matters must not materially mislead the audience. (Note to Rule 2.2: News is regulated under Section five of the Code.)

When I write up my article I have to make sure that I don’t write anything that will mislead people into thinking that I am being offensive so I will not offend any of the people that are reading my article.

 Meaning of "life-changing":

Life-changing advice includes direct advice for individuals upon which they could reasonably act or rely about health, finance, employment or relationships.

In my article it is about giving advice to young people that can change the way they think forever this means that I have to make sure that that I am not making up any fake facts just to make them change the way they think.

Dealing fairly with contributors and obtaining informed consent

7.2    Broadcasters and programme makers should normally be fair in their dealings with potential contributors to programmes unless, exceptionally, it is justified to do otherwise.

As before my article has to be fair and I have to write like I understand what teenagers are going through because it is very easy for me to say ‘stop wearing make-up’ because then no one will take in what the article is really about also I have to make sure that I include boys as well to make it fair because many boys are starting to wear make-up to feel better about themselves and not a lot of articles talk about how boys wear make-up.

Opportunity to contribute and proper consideration of facts

7.9    Before broadcasting a factual programme, including programmes examining past events, broadcasters should take reasonable care to satisfy themselves that:

Before I write my article I have done a lot of research about young teenagers wearing make-up and wear it all came from I have found facts and statements that will help to give advice to young people also I do not want to put in anything that won’t be true because people can easily check it and if they find out its fake then they won’t bother taking in the article or even reading it.

news atricle two

Green Street

Want to know what is making you wear so much make-up the scroll down.

You’re wondering why you or your child wears so much make-up well, I think I’ve just found the answer.

Green Street made in 1930, one of the most popular places in east London the place surrounded and filled with new trends of make-up and the most extravagant dresses no wonder it attracts so many teens. More and more past the few years Green Street has been made number 1 place where young teenagers are inspired by make-up and have seen the new make-up trends. So, is Green Street the place to blame for our young children to be covering their faces with all these make-up products? Well, 67% of parents in east London blame Green Street for being the reason why their children wear so much make up or is this just to hide the fact of bad parenting.

The place is surrounded by Asian culture all the bright big eye make-up and the fleekiest eyes brows in the whole of                 London which almost every girl would die for. I guess it don’t help the fact that the stereo type for an Asian women is someone that wears heaps of make-up filled with bright colours just for fun so, is ruining their faces with chemical products just to get the fleeciest eyebrows really worth it?

Green street it’s not the fanciest place to go out with your friends so why do so many teens go their maybe because of all the people who work their such as the women who cover themselves with make-up just for day at work. So maybe it’s not green street its selve but the people who work there.

The people who work there

Green Street was made in 1940 where young teenagers did not feel the need to wear make-up so do we blame Green Street or the people who work there?

Here’s a clip to show you around one of the most popular places for teens in east London

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPItwBWGKKA

We go into one the biggest and most popular colleges in east London to hear their opinions on Green Street. We asked a first year girls of what they think of green street and what they see when they go there. ‘’well I went there to get my prom dress but I couldn’t find anything but all the women their where covered with make-up but it did look nice’’.
