rom the soot-rimmed eyes of the ancient great Egyptians to the lead paint worn by only the Elizabethans, girls and women have experimented with cosmetics throughout history and throughout their whole entire lives. More and more girls around east London love to cover their faces with chemical products to feel better about themselves which they sometimes say they do it for ‘’fun’’.is this really true?. In today society it is seen as being normal for girls even at the age of 13 to be wearing make-up especially around east London, if you was to walk around Walthamstow central you would see young girls with a full face of makeup (cakey look) now is this really normal for girls that haven’t really even gone into their teen years to be worrying about how they look? Isn’t the reason for being young to have fun? Well nowadays, wearing makeup is seen as being a fun thing to do. Do people really wear make up to feel better about themselves or just because everyone else does it so they can ‘’fit in’’
All over social media such as Instagram all you would mainly see is funny videos and make-up tutorials so if girls don’t really feel the need to wear make-up can they really escape the fact that it is seen as a normal thing that everyone is doing especially that now ‘’young people’’ are the main target audience for all of these social media apps. almost as if they are trapped in the fact that everyone is wearing make-up which then would result in more people wearing make-up?.
A new study has shown that more than 75% of girls in east London feel it’s impossible to leave the house without wearing make-up. a fifth of girls as young as 12 won’t leave home without a full make-up and over half of under 14’s wear cosmetics EVERY day’’ (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2723853/Would-YOU-let-12-year-old-wear-make-Over-HALF-14s-wear-EVERY-day-nearly-fifth-wont-leave-home-without-cosmetics-on.html). Quote from a 14 year old girl ‘’wearing make-up makes me and my friends feel better about ourselves and it is also a way of me and my friends to socialize with each other so many boys in my school thought we was ugly until we started wearing make-up and now I feel so good that I have all this new attention’’. Now boys play a big role in the fact that girls want to wear more and more make-up because in today’s society if a
boy doesn’t think your good looking then it’s the end of the world. But boys love to say ‘’I would rather want a girl that wears no make-up to a girl that wears make-up’’
But still go for the one with no make-up purely for the fact that she looks better. Your probably thinking where has this urge for young people to be wearing all this make-up well some blame ‘’Asian’’ people because of the fact that they are so skilled at doing their make-up they have set new trends all around east London such as the thick eyebrows and the 10kg amount of highlight. green street is one of the most popular places to buy new make-up and where you will see hundreds of women wearing make-up looking almost ‘’perfect’ ’now also most of the people you would see running up and down green street at groups of young teenagers trying to find out the new trends and trying to fit in with everyone else no wonder almost 45% of parents blame green street for being the reason why their kids put on tones of make-up. Green Street was made in 1940 where young teenagers did not feel the need to wear make-up so do we blame Green Street or the people who work there? It seems that people find it easier to blame Green Street than the people that run and work there. It seems like each month the new style of make-up changes first its thin eye-brows now everyone wants ‘’thick eye-brows’’
and everyone seems to be doing everything they can to fit in with the make-up trend like tinting their eyebrows which could risk all of your eyebrows falling off but oh well at least you fir in now. ‘Ornela’’ 15 has over 90k followers on Instagram based on the fact that she has good make up skills where as a doctor ‘’timjh’’ on Instagram has only 563 followers on Instagram the more ‘‘important’’ people are becoming less well known and makeup artist are becoming the most well-known. girls all over east London admire kenza and try and be like her because of how famous kenza is becoming girls think that doing what she does is going to make them famous as well teenagers are trapped in this idea that if you are not well known are not attractive that your life isn’t fun which is not the case teenagers need to learn that being well known and being the most attractive person in the room is not going to get you anywhere and as much as everyone tells them such as family and friends they can’t stop and realize that being attractive means nothing. There are many disadvantages of wearing make-up that not a lot of teenagers known such as it ruins your skin when you older maybe if they knew all these disadvantages they would stop but nowhere on the products to the mention these side effects and nowhere in tutorials or on social media they let everyone see the outcome of wearing a lot of make-up. "By the time girls become teenagers many of them have a daily make-up ritual or tutorial. As the layers add up so does exposure to dangerous chemicals and that’s very bad news for a young girl’s health."
all of the UK.
Now parents are giving their young children pocket money just for them to spend it all in boots or Superdrug on make-up which could be spent on more important things maybe there should be an age limit on if you can buy make-up or not but that would just cause to much problems maybe, the parents need to stop giving their children pocket money and just buy the things that they actually need? Well, a new study shows that millions of children are spending more than half of their weekly pocket money buying the newest brands of make-up the most expensive eye brow pencil. ‘’mac’’ is the number one place where young children buy all their make-up products and is £14 a eye brow pencil really worth it I thought not.

A girl that lives in east London told us ‘‘I was late for my GCSE math’s exam because I couldn’t get both my eye brows to look right’’ Its crazy to think that children are missing out on thing that will later on in life help them but nowadays they think getting the right eyebrows and eyeliner is going to get them everywhere.
grades dropping, gcse failing all because of chemical products most would say that this is really getting out of hand most children in their math’s class would rather look at their selves in the mirror than try and work out how to do simultaneous equations.
In mine and many other peoples opinions all around the world teens shouldn't or don't need to wear make-up because everyone is naturally pretty in their own way and make up does not define who you are the only person you need to impress is your self.
