Evaluation of my advert

The meaning for my advert was to show people of a new branded icing that was different to all the others because it was made out of all natural ingredients and it was healthy the reason for this is so that everyone could use it so, even if you was on a diet you would be able to use the icing on your cupcakes without feeling bad.in my advert it is clear that this icing is a different type of icing because of the labels on the icing container also the captions on my advert describe it being one of the most healthiest and most naturally made icings throughout the whole of my video I have put captions in to tell the audience what to is going on and the ingredients for every ingredient I put in I would name it also towards the end I put in captions and my slogan which was 'Be amazed'.




During my production I had to change I few things such as the making of the cupcakes I decided that I could not spend too much time filming the actually cupcake making because then it wouldn't of been clear for to viewers what my advert was actually about. What worked well for my advert was the filming because I knew exactly what I needed to film because of my story board it instructed me through the whole process of the making the cupcakes and icing.in my editing it was hard to know where to place each video to make it all fit in also I didn't want most of my video to include the making of the cupcake so it was quite hard to cut some bits out because I wanted the viewers to see me actually making the cupcake at the end of my editing I fast forwarded all the cupcake making bits and the icing scenes I kept at a slow and steady pace so the viewers knew that the icing was the main thing in the advert.




What worked well in my advert was the fay that I had edited all the videos together and made cuts throughout this made my advert more unique and also how each shot went straight to the next shot with out any fades or anything so that my advert looked straight to the point and also to show what scenes where important.




When my class saw my video the feedback I got was both negative and positive, everyone liked the music I had because they said that is was very upbeat and they liked the way my music became more dramatic when it got to the scene of the icing also they said that my last scene should of been longer so that they could properly see the slogan at the end also, they said that they liked the diegetic sounds which made it different to the rest of the cupcake adverts and if looked more real they then also, said that it was clear to see what the advert was about and that was my main goal was but they wanted to see more of the icing scene to create more of an effect so things that I would change would be to include more icing scenes and less cupcake making scenes to make sure that all the viewers get what my advert is about also another goal of mine was to see if the viewers knew that this icing wasn't just any ordinary icing but something that everyone can use without feeling guilty.


One of my greatest strengths in making the advert was being able to film all the right bits that I needed because of the cameras we have today it is easier for people to make great detailed videos that show more meaning also one of my weaknesses was not being able to cut things out of my advert when editing just in case I needed it or it would of made my advert even better so, I had to be harsh with what went into my advert because of the time limit that I had which was 1 minute and 30 seconds. If I could do it all again I would worry less about the actual making of the cupcakes and focus more on the main thing which was my icing.

Overall I think that my advert was clear and straight to the point but just needed a few adjustment when looking at the scenes of the icing also, I should of kept all of my advert landscape because it would change from landscape to portrait nearly in every shot and that is something I will learn from because the final result didn't look as could as it would of it was all landscape that was one of the main criticism that I got from my class feedback.
