Prison break.
Prison break uses a wide range of techniques such as, non- diegetic sounds to create more tension and to make it more amusing and interesting for the viewers to watch so, it catches the viewers’ attention more and to draw them in for them to pay more attention. Usually in prison break it uses quite dramatic music to indicate when, something dramatic is going to happen or they use soothing and calm music to highlight sadness and to show, the viewers that the scene is going to be depressing. Furthermore, prisons break also, uses diegetic sounds such as: gun shots, bombs and loud screaming which are all supposed to be in the scene this creates the scene to be more dramatic and life like for the viewers that are watching.
In prions breaks, the most camera shot that is usually used is over the shoulder shot to show, the emotions of the person in front of the character that is speaking so, the viewers see how the words of the character in front is effecting the character in shot. Also, another shot that is usually shot in prison break is shot reverse shot which shows, the two people who are talking which also, follows the conversation through this is because in prisons break many of the characters are split in different areas of the country. Thirdly, another shot that is common in prison break is jump cut this allows the viewers to see from, the present to the past back to the present to make it clear to the viewers about the history of each character and what may be the reasons for their actions.
Prison break uses establishing shots to make it clear to, the viewers about what type of environment the scene is set in which is usually dangerous in prison break. In prions break most of the characters are dressed in the clothing which, prisoners are expected to dress in this indicates that the characters have done something bad and dangerous which then, separates the antagonists from the protagonists. The location in Prison Break is set around many countries such as, America and Mexico; Mexicans stereo types are seen to be dangerous and un-trust worthy people that are usually involved in, drugs and the American stereo type is selfish and self centred people which is further on showed in prison break.
Overall, prison break is one of the series which uses the most type of: sounds, camera work and editing because it is not only set in one country and people are moving around quickly and a lot also, because there are a wide range of different people and a lot of, actors in the series which change and gain daily.
Well done - great start with good use of terminology.
ReplyDeleteRemember to cover all four areas camera, editing, mise-en-scene and sound with subheadings!
Check your camera and editing terminology as these are different (e.g a jump cut is an editing technique not a shot).
Provide detailed examples (what do prison people wear?) with visuals (images).
